Here's the Warlord Shureg, as described in the exquisite comic Order of the Tales. As part of a contest, I created the above-mentioned Warlord out of clay. I came up with this fellow.

The Warlord Shureg is a man of contradictions. He is small but thuggish, with a rough and disdainful demeanor but a penchant for fine clothing. He is vain, loud, and obsessive about cleanliness. Because of his small size, Shureg dresses himself to appear larger, tougher. His fur-lined coat and breastplate grant him a boastful, lion-ish effect, and his large boots and small helmet help him look both taller and larger.

The sword Bloodletter is a ridiculous companion to Shureg. It is far too large to use, and Shureg has always been more proficient in planning battles than in the physical act of brawling itself. Shureg was born with cunning, though, and he tricked the people of Fromb into believing the sword gave him omniprescient abilities, that it was Bloodletter, not his network of spies and traitors, that gave Shureg his advantageous knowledge in battle. But traitors work both ways, and it was a bare whisper-campaign that brought Shureg into the hands of his own people, and under his own blade as well.

But when you look at him, the Warlord Shureg is really just a tiny brute after all.
