Captain Nebo's ship, the Nudibrank, crash landed on Earth over a year ago.
Nebo, a brave, brash, not entirely genius man, led his crew out into the world, as was a bit surprised- his towering two-inch frame was nothing compared to the size of the creatures upon Earth!
From paper clips and tin foil, from remote control circuits and discarded pagers, Nebo and his crew set up a communications system to get back in contact with their home federation.
The hap-dash radio worked! Nebo's crew heard the familiar tongue of their people... but didn't say anything back. They've spent the last few months debating whether they really want to go home. After all, Earth isn't that bad of a place, even for someone two inches tall!
